The Founder
MZNR is not about nostalgia. It is about continuity.
Nabil Mouzannar is a third-generation jeweler.
He grew up inside a jewelry dynasty in Beirut. His grandfather built things in gold. His father and four uncles each ran their own stores. Nabil absorbed it the way children absorb a language. Not through study. Through proximity. Through watching men who understood that an object built with precision outlasts almost everything else.
At 18, he left.
Not because the craft did not hold him. Because a city at war with itself forces decisions that have nothing to do with what you love. He left Beirut by boat, with the weight of everything he was leaving behind and no certainty of what came next. New York received him the way it receives everyone. Without ceremony. You either find your footing or you do not.
He found his in technology. In systems. In the discipline of building things that work, not just things that look like they work.
Then São Paulo. A market he did not know, in a language he was learning, building a business from the ground up. Systems thinking applied to a foreign context. It worked because the methodology was sound.
Three decades. Three cities. One standard that never changed.
He came back to jewelry with something most jewelers do not have: decades of knowing how things are built to last, not just built to sell.

Legacy

This house is built on three generations of Lebanese goldsmithing.
The Mouzannar family has worked with gold since the mid-20th century. A small family workshop in Beirut. A grandfather who built things in gold and taught his craft to his five sons from a young age. Each of those brothers grew up and ran his own jewelry store. Including Nabil's father.
Nabil did not study the trade in a classroom. He learned it through proximity. Through watching his father work. Through absorbing a standard that was never explained, only demonstrated.

MZNR was born between two places: Beirut and New York.

Design Philosophy

Influenced by brutalist architecture, industrial objects, and lived experience. Sculptural. Intentional. Reduced. Edges are deliberate. Surfaces are imperfect by design. Gold is allowed to age.

Materials & Craft
Solid 14k and 18k gold and silver. No plating. No coating over a base metal.
The material underneath is the same as the material on the surface. That is not a detail. It is a position.
